It would appear at this point the winning Striped Bass (Stripers) during the Long Beach Island Surf Fishing tournament came in at just over 47 pounds! That’s a whopper! We noticed it on a small sign of a local bait shop the other day. The top fish sat at somewhere over 46 pounds for a bit, so I’ll bet that was a surprise that a bigger one came in!

Congratulations for landing that one! I’ve got some great pics from the Seashell Fishing Derby as well. We sat on the beach on Saturday and cars and boats were all over trying to catch a big one for that particular fishing contest. This contest was raising money for charity. They’re trying to restore a small cottage and make it into a historic fishing cottage for people to see and enjoy.

Just a few days ago, I posted a picture of snow. I happen to be down the shore for a couple of days, enjoying the off-season quiet. I kid you not, we were in short sleeves Saturday. There was a woman sitting on the beach in her bathing suit. It was high sixties, and tomorrow it’s calling for 67. Okay, 60’s isn’t bathing suit weather in my book, but you’d never believed it had just snowed.

This week, we’re seeing mid-60’s and the sun is shining. I have a few great pictures to add when I get back home.
